8 Argentine Winter Wines To Try

Extreme cold during winter in Mendoza

Every occasion is unique, and pairings, context, company and climate create a different mood for every occasion. So imagine, how great would it be if we had a selection of wines to choose from for each occasion. To make your winter evenings more memorable so that after you return home from work, you can enjoy a glass of warm wine with a hearty meal, we have come up with a list of winter wines you cannot miss!

During these last months, we have written a lot about new styles and trends in Argentine winemaking, with fresher and lighter wines. However, Argentina still offers a wide group of strong and full-bodied red wines to go through the winter and below you will find some of them selected by our team.

1) Luigi Bosca Ícono 2011

Aged wine which is on its ideal point. The evolution is perceived by its brick color. Explosive and complex shows an immense aromatic palette where, among other things, raisins, wood and spices stand out. Silky and kind, owner of a vibrant acidity that augurs it even more years of life. Absolutely Delicious!

Crafted with grapes from the vineyards that surround their iconic winery, this is a very complex wine, with fruity and spicy notes. It has a subtle and elegant mouthfeel, yet powerful and dense. It is enveloped by multiple layers.

5) Weinert Tonel Único 111 Malbec 1994

Well known by its Bordeaux style, Weinert has crafted this awesome Malbec back in 1994 and oak-aged it for 24 years. Yes, you read well. Typical fruit from Malbec, well structured in the palate, subtle evolution appears among its aroma palate, but it retains a freshness that surprises and gives a perfect balance to this jewel.
