During these last months, we have written a lot about new styles and trends in Argentine winemaking, with fresher and lighter wines. However, Argentina still offers a wide group of strong and full-bodied red wines to go through the winter and below you will find some of them selected by our team.

Well known by its Bordeaux style, Weinert has crafted this awesome Malbec back in 1994 and oak-aged it for 24 years. Yes, you read well. Typical fruit from Malbec, well structured in the palate, subtle evolution appears among its aroma palate, but it retains a freshness that surprises and gives a perfect balance to this jewel.
This wine is a commemoration of the winery foundation back in 1831. Dried fruit, flowers and spicy. In the palette, it is concentrated, with present tannins, good volume and persistent yet subtle finish.

A collaboration between Agustin Lanus and the award-winning Chilean winemaker Stefano Gandolfini, Aguayo was the first iconic wine made in Hualfin, Catamarca province, which is a classic full-bodied wine from vineyards over 2,100 msnm. “An old-world style wine with a long finish in the mouth, Aguayo evokes a sense of dried cherries and black currants, with rose mosqueta floral notes and a soft mint finish”, Agustín says about it.
